Product care & maintenance

Tips and advice to keep your sanitaryware in top condition.

How to keep your sanitaryware beautiful for years

Every finish needs its own approach. Follow our tips to keep your sanitaryware in optimal condition.

Gold and brass

Gold and brass finishes are sensitive to harsh cleaning products. Clean daily with a soft, dry cloth to remove water drops and soap residue before they set. Only use a mild, pH-neutral soap for stubborn deposits. Acidic products such as vinegar or lemon are a no-go — they attack the finish and cause discolouration. Always dry thoroughly with a soft microfibre cloth for a spotless shine.

Chrome

Chrome is the lowest-maintenance finish in our range. Wipe weekly with a damp cloth and dry to prevent water streaks. For limescale, use lukewarm water with a mild, pH-neutral soap; then rinse well and dry immediately. Avoid scouring pads or steel wool, even though chrome seems robust: scratches are visible and cannot be repaired.

Bronze and Gun Metal Gray

Bronze and Gun Metal Gray finishes give your bathroom a dark, rich look — and call for a careful approach when cleaning. For daily care, only use a soft, damp cloth without cleaning products. Avoid any acidic cleaner. Always dry immediately after cleaning to prevent stains and water marks. The dark tone of these finishes sometimes makes light limescale traces visible a little sooner — a dry cloth after every use is the best prevention.

Common mistakes

What you had better avoid

A scouring pad or steel wool removes limescale, but scratches the finish at the same time. Once scratched, always visible — even on chrome. Only use soft microfibre or cotton cloths to clean your sanitaryware.

Acidic cleaning products such as vinegar, lemon or all-purpose cleaner seem effective against limescale — but they attack the finish. The result: discolouration and a dull finish that cannot be restored. Always use a mild, pH-neutral cleaning product.

Water drops that dry leave limescale marks behind, especially in areas with hard water. It seems harmless but builds up over time. The simplest tip: briefly dry your tap and shower set with a dry cloth after every use. It saves you a lot of cleaning later.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I clean my sanitaryware?

Ideally, wipe your taps and accessories dry after use. In addition, clean them weekly with a soft, damp cloth. That gives limescale and soap residue little chance.

Use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap. Then rinse with clean water and dry immediately. Do not use a scouring pad, steel wool or harsh descaler, as they can damage the finish.

Avoid abrasives, bleach, chlorine and harsh or strongly acidic cleaners. Do not use a scouring pad or steel wool either. A microfibre cloth with mild soap is the safest choice for every finish.
